ECUADOR
The project operates in rural areas of southern Ecuador, where access to safe drinking water is limited and schools face infrastructural and educational shortcomings. In these contexts, schools serve as key reference points for communities, not only for education but also for social cohesion and the transmission of knowledge related to the territory. The Amazon region is now the heart of production, with over 16,680 hectares cultivated, accounting for more than 50% of the national total. The coffee sector supports more than 100,000 rural families, mostly smallholder farms that adopt agroforestry practices to reduce deforestation and increase climate resilience.
The main objectives are:
– ensure safe drinking water in rural schools;
– strengthen environmental and climate awareness;
– promote collaboration between schools, producers, and the private sector;
– improve the well-being of children and communities.
