The heart of the world
The Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta is considered by the Kogi, Arhuaco, Wiwa, and Kankuamo indigenous peoples as the “Heart of the World,” a sacred territory where the balance between nature and communities is fundamental to the well-being of the planet. This worldview is based on the concept of Aluna, which expresses the interconnection between the physical and spiritual dimensions.
In this context, coffee production is an integral part of local culture and is carried out using traditional and sustainable methods, based on organic farming, polyculture, and rituals guided by the Mamos, the spiritual leaders of the community.
The project aims to document and enhance this ancestral knowledge, promoting its transmission to new generations and its global dissemination through digital tools and new forms of storytelling.
